There was no beginning and there is no end. There are only cycles and due to deterministic nature of the universe, every cycle is identical to every other cycle.
I’m a fan of the Big Bounce cosmology (see Wikipedia), which is a cyclic between a Big Bang (the explosion of a super-massive collapsed black hole) and a Big Crunch (the re-accumulation of matter into black holes and their combination). But I suspect that each collapse sorts the contents, essentially stirring the soup, such that each cycle turns out differently. But, given an infinite number of such cycles, there would naturally be some point where the whole set of such cycles does repeat. On the other hand, given infinity, there may be multiple Big Bangs going off like popcorn all over the place. And perhaps even some exchange of material at the edges, adding more variety to the mix.
